About the Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and highly qualified Flow Cytometry Pathologist to join our dynamic diagnostic laboratory in Seattle, WA. This is a non-hospital, onsite position ideally suited for a motivated professional with experience or interest in hematologic malignancies and high-throughput diagnostic environments.
You will work alongside a collaborative team of experts to interpret complex flow cytometry, FISH, and molecular diagnostic tests with a focus on hematopathology. This role is critical in providing accurate, timely, and actionable diagnostic information for patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and sign out 50–85 flow cytometry reports and 10–50 FISH/molecular reports daily.
- Perform in-depth diagnostic evaluation of hematolymphoid neoplasms using flow cytometry and correlate with molecular and FISH findings.
- Collaborate with laboratory scientists and technologists to ensure quality control and compliance with CLIA/CAP regulations.
- Maintain accuracy and efficiency in a high-volume setting while meeting turnaround time expectations.
- Communicate findings clearly and effectively with referring clinicians and care teams.
Qualifications
Required:
- Board certification in Clinical Pathology (CP) or Anatomic/Clinical Pathology (AP/CP).
- U.S. medical license (or eligibility).
- Strong diagnostic skills in flow cytometry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Subspecialty training or significant experience in Hematopathology or Hematologic Oncology.
- AP-only boarded candidates with strong experience in flow cytometry may also be considered.
- Familiarity with molecular diagnostic assays and FISH interpretation is a plus.
