The Pathology Department processes over 14,000 surgical specimens and 2,400 frozen sections annually, all of which represent cancer or are cancer related.
The successful candidate will participate in sign-out responsibilities, contribute to fellow teaching, and pursue an academic program reflective of their interests. Ample opportunities exist for translational research utilizing the state-of-the-art resources of our molecular genomic laboratory and through collaboration with other faculty, both clinical and research. Start-up funds and, when relevant, laboratory space are available to a suited candidate.
Specialty training, demonstrated academic productivity, interest in molecular studies as a
component of diagnostics, and clinical excellence in diagnostic pathology are each considered
assets. Appointment and salary depend on the level of experience and accomplishments.
Applicants must be a US citizen or permanent resident, have a M.D., M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent
degree. Board Certification/Eligibility in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic/Clinical Pathology and an unrestricted medical license/eligibility in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania are necessary.
