Job Description:
A full-time opportunity is available for an AP/CP General Surgical Pathologist to join a well-established pathology services group supporting a high-volume acute care hospital. This role involves a broad scope of anatomic and clinical pathology, including surgical pathology, frozen sections, and clinical interpretations. The position offers a collaborative environment with experienced pathologists and access to a large, integrated healthcare network focused on delivering high-quality diagnostic services and patient outcomes.
Shift / Schedule:
- Full-time position
- Day schedule (case-based workflow)
- Approximate case volume: ~13 cases per day
Responsibilities:
- Perform and interpret surgical pathology cases, including general and breast pathology
- Conduct intraoperative consultations and frozen section analysis
- Provide clinical pathology interpretations and diagnostic support
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams to support patient care decisions
- Participate in case review, quality assurance, and diagnostic accuracy initiatives
- Maintain accurate and timely pathology reporting and documentation
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment with other pathologists and clinical staff
Requirements:
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP)
- Subspecialty training preferred
- Recent experience performing frozen sections
- Proficiency in breast pathology and general surgical pathology
- Ability to obtain or maintain an active Texas medical license
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
