Independent Pathology Group servicing a wide range of hospitals and facilities in Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio is growing again. Join our team of 3 current PA’s, 2 grossing techs and 10 Pathologists servicing Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana and its affiliates. Monday to Friday. Occasional need of work on a Saturday by rotation.             

Performs a variety of technical procedures that result in the preparation of human surgical specimens for microscopic examination by a Board Certified Pathologist (s). These technical procedures include and are not limited to: 

– Description of specimen gross anatomic features 

– Dissection of surgical specimens 

– Preparation of specimens for supplementary testing (i.e. flow cytometry, electron microscopy, special stains, cytology, decalcification, etc.). 

– Autopsy 3-5 per year

– Photography of all pertinent gross specimens 

– Selection of samples for frozen sections

Candidate must be able to work independently when performing professional duties associated with the preparation, performance, and completion of autopsies, and examination and/or preparations of the surgical pathology specimens, with general supervision of a Board Certified Pathologist. 

Experience: Will train on-site. Grossing experience preferred, new grads welcome to apply.

Must be dedicated to patient care and team work and willing to adopt our lab’s grossing protocol. 

At least a bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree in Pathologist’s assistant from a NAACLS accredited institution preferred.

ASCP Pathologists’ Assistant certification required, or exam eligible. Must obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
