Full-time | Days (Rotating Weekends)
Position Overview:
A full-time, hospital-based leadership opportunity is available for a Market Medical Director overseeing multiple facilities within a regional healthcare market. This role combines administrative leadership with clinical responsibilities, supporting high-quality pathology services across several hospitals and affiliated sites in a dynamic, patient-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide medical and administrative leadership across assigned facilities
- Participate in committees, scheduling, workload distribution, and quality management initiatives
- Oversee laboratory operations, test utilization, and clinical compliance
- Perform anatomic pathology case sign-out, frozen sections, FNAs, and consultations
- Lead tumor board participation and support interdisciplinary collaboration
- Build strong relationships with hospital leadership and pathology teams
- Mentor and support development of junior pathologists
Practice Environment:
- Collaborative team setting with pathology and support staff
- Diverse and high-volume case mix in a hospital-based setting
- No autopsy or gynecologic cytology responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP)
- 3–5 years of experience as a Medical Director in a hospital setting (multi-site experience preferred)
- Active state medical license or in progress
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
- Experience managing or mentoring pathologists
